Licensed Building Surveyor

The Council may make bylaws for the licensing of builders and surveyors and for their compulsory employment under sec.432 (12) c of CCMC Act, 1981 for the preparation of building plans in Coimbatore city and accordingly a bylaw prepared by the then Coimbatore Municipality is being followed. The details of bylaw are provided in the Planning legislation chapter. The licensed building enrolled with CCMC so far is 650 apart from the registered practicing Architects, who need not register themselves with CCMC as Licensed Building Surveyor as per the Indian Architects Act and Supreme Court orders. A software called lbssoft is prepared for the maintenance of LBS and put on trial now.
